Ingredients

Scale

    • 1 package of brownie mix (pick your preferred brand)

    • 1 ripe banana, mashed

    • 1 large egg

    • 1/4 cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)

    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    • Optional: chocolate chips or nuts for added texture

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) to begin warming up. Prepare the Baking Sheet, Either line a baking sheet with parchment paper or give it a light coating of grease to prevent the cookies from sticking.
  2. Prepare the Banana Mixture: In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe banana until smooth. Bananas for Extra Sweetness, The more mature your banana, the sweeter and more flavorful your cookies will be.
  3. Combine the Wet Ingredients: Add the egg, vegetable oil (or melted butter), and vanilla extract to the mashed banana. Mix everything together until well combined.
  4. Mix in the Brownie Box Mix: Gradually add the brownie mix to the wet ingredients, stirring until fully incorporated. You’ll notice the dough will be thick, but that’s perfect for chewy, brownie-like cookies.
  5. Optional Add-ins: If you want to add a bit more texture to your cookies, fold in some chocolate chips or chopped nuts at this stage.
  6. Form the Cookies: Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of the dough and place them onto your prepared baking sheet. Leave enough space between each cookie for them to spread out slightly as they bake.
  7. Bake the Cookies: Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are slightly crispy, but the centers remain soft and fudgy. Be careful not to overbake them; they should still be soft when you remove them from the oven.
  8. Cool and Enjoy: Let the cookies sit on the baking sheet for a few minutes to firm up, then transfer them to a cooling rack to cool completely.
